Originaly made for Saint laurence river or any big water infested of zipper mussel who cut everthing who lay on the bottom even the biggest mono or braid. PVC tubes are bad. Why ? 1) Whatever the size of your PVC, it won't be strong enough to protect your mono or braid from obstacles because all of the pvc tubes on the market are made with a thin slice of pvc. 2)PVC tube have always some air bubbles inside and let your tube float a little bit above the bottom (best way to scary carps). 3)Zipper mussels or sharp rocks will cut your PVC easily whatever the size is. Try to cut them with your knife just to give you a good idea about how fragile they are. 4) When the botton is muddy the tube will never stay flat on the bottom. 5)When there is wind or current in lake/river the tube will move all the time.
